Xfinity Remote Replay Feature

Xfinity gave us a new remote because the last one stopped working.  We were annoyed because the new remote didn't have the replay button like the old one.  There is a trick you can use to get the replay feature back. Shut your TV off and take the remote to a different room.  Press Exit 3 times then press 0030.  Go turn your TV back on and press Page Down.  The show will go back 15 seconds.  If you press Page Up, it will move ahead 30 seconds (if you are far enough behind live TV or a recording).  

I hope it makes your TV watching a little better!

CVS ExtraBucks Extension on Expiration Dates

If you are like me, you are stuck at home and probably wondering if you will lose your CVS ExtraBucks once they expire.  Good news!  They will reissue them again once they are expired.  This is the response from CVS:

Beginning April 10, 2020, any ExtraBucks Rewards earned from ExtraCare Beauty Club®, ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards® and circular ExtraBucks® Rewards with expiration dates between March 15, 2020 and April 30, 2020 and that are not redeemed will be reissued to you. You’ll have 30 days to access your ExtraBucks Rewards and 30 days to redeem them through the CVS Pharmacy® app or CVS.com®, or in our stores. ExtraBucks Rewards will be reissued starting on April 10, 2020 over the span of several weeks. You may not see all eligible ExtraBucks Rewards reissued at once. ExtraBucks Rewards could take several weeks to appear in your ExtraCare® account balance. We hope this is just one small way we can show our customers how much we care.

Saving Money Mommy's Tip- Protecting Your Valuables

My tip today is to protect the valuables you already have.  I've heard numerous stories lately about purse snatching in grocery stores and parking lots.  Make sure you always keep your purse with you.  Don't keep it in the baby seat of the shopping cart.  If you do, you risk losing your purse when you turn to get something.  Also, don't leave it in the shopping cart or front seat of the car when you load up your groceries.  Someone may drive by and grab it out of your cart or take it out of your car when you're not looking.

Another thing going on a lot lately are purses and wallets being stolen from gas stations while you are pumping gas.  Always lock the passenger side door and don't leave valuables in site when pumping gas.

Just make sure you are always alert and keep your valuables safe.  It's hard enough to make ends meet nowadays without having your wallet and credit cards stolen.  It's a terrible thing I hope none of you have to experience.

How to Save on Hotel Rooms

We decided to take a family trip to Washington, D.C. for two nights.  My husband asked me to start searching for hotel deals.

I think one of the best hotels for a family is the Hyatt Place.  It is more spacious than a regular hotel room and has a great breakfast.  I went to Hyatt.com and saw the best price for this hotel was $162.00.  I then went to Trivago.com where they list all the different prices for hotels and the sites where you can find those deals.  I saw the best price for the hotel I wanted was $125 at hotels.com.  I could have gone back to Hyatt.com, booked it there and went through all the steps to price match with the Hotels.com price, but I came up with something better.

There was a Promo Code of "SAVENOW" on Hotels.com that popped up on the screen that I could use to save an additional 10%.  I figured out the grand total was going to be $257.93 (including tax) at Hotels.com to book the two nights.  I didn't book yet.  I clicked Raise.com through my cashback website www.savingmoneymommy.com so I could buy a $250.00 Hotels.com gift card for a discounted price of $233.81.  I'm also getting $4.68 (2% cashback) for clicking through my site.  I then clicked Hotels.com through my site www.savingmoneymommy.com to book the hotel.  I entered the gift card I just bought through Raise.com and paid an additional $7.93.  I'm getting $10.32 (4% cashback) for clicking through my site.

After the sale at Hotels.com, the promo code, the discount gift card and the cashback, instead of paying $162.00 for the hotel room, I am paying $97.04 (before tax) per night.

It is a little more work than just booking right away, but I think that saving $64.96 per night is definitely worth it!

My Trip to Kohl's

It was very unusual for the Saving Money Mommy to make an unexpected trip into a brick and mortar, but I visited Kohl's today on a whim.  As I walked around and found a lot of deals, I thought to myself that there must be a coupon somewhere on the web to use.  I took out my Android, typed in Kohls coupon store and up popped this website.  It listed all the deals for the day at Kohl's.  I scooped up my items and went to the register.  The cashier rang up everything, scanned my phone for the coupon I just found and instantly saved $10 off $30.  With my savvy shopping and quick coupon finding, I paid $32.56 and saved a whopping $134.77!  When the cashier announced my savings, the people behind me were cheering.

Remember, don't buy anything without getting some kind of deal (or multiple deals)!

Triple Play Deal at Payless Shoes

After a busy summer with moving to Pennsylvania, I'm finally back at finding deals.  The kids start school in a couple of weeks and they all need new sneakers.  After searching around online, I finally decided Payless could give me the best deals.  I have outlined what I did below.  It will sound confusing but if you follow the steps, it is not difficult.  I ended up saving $106.12 plus earned $1.71 in Cashback on 4 pair of sneakers!

I went to payless.com and added what I wanted to my cart.  Payless was having a good sale.  I used the coupon code 251463310 to get an additional 25% off.  I saw my total was close to $49.48 after the discount.  I also signed into my Payless account at this time so the order was in my account.  I exited out of the site.

I went to my Cashback site www.savingmoneymommy.com and typed in Raise.com in the search bar at the top.  Raise.com is a discounted gift card site.  I bought a $50.00 Payless eGift Card for only $35.84.  It was ready 7 minutes after placing the order.  I also got 2% Cashback for clicking Raise.com through www.savingmoneymommy.com.  I had to click "My Account" in Raise.com and then the order number to get the eGift card number and copied it.

I went back to www.savingmoneymommy.com and typed Payless Shoes in the search bar at the top.  I went to Payless and back to my order.  On the billing page, it will give you the option of entering a gift card.  This is where I put the eGift card number I copied from Raise.com.

The $50.00 eGift Card was deducted from my order total of $49.48.  I owed nothing more at Payless and $.52 is still on the eGift Card.  I am also going to receive 2% Cashback for clicking Payless Shoes through www.savingmoneymommy.com.

So to sum this up, I am getting 4 pair of brand new sneakers for my tweens for $35.84 (retail cost $141.96).

Like I said, it sounds a little confusing.  It did not take me tons of time, but the money I saved was definitely worth it!
